Dear Professor Tonge:

My impression is that Yorick Wilks will make an excellent teacher.  He lectures
well and is enthusiastic about his work.  I think he will interact well with
students because he has a friendly personality.

He is a competent linguist.  He must be compared with Roger Schank and Terry
Winograd.  I have not followed the field well enough to make this comparison
accurately.  While he was her he did not attract as many students as Schank
but he was not a faculty member and Schank was.
